Upon completion of this module, students will be able to:

1. describe the ways plant roots compensate for the often soft, wet, loose soils common in the rainforest
2. create a simple plan for a farm in Costa Rica that prevents soil erosion and demonstrates the relationship between soil, water and how leaf litter and plant roots prevent erosion
